HISTORY
Founded in 2019 as a joint effort to take action to change our personal and community situation of extreme poverty. United by our common respect and appreciation for nature, our love and caring for the land, our mission is to take a stand to safeguard the disappearing local habitat, to implement solutions that capitalize on the natural local abundance, while reversing the destruction of nature in the region.
Breaking ground in forming our villages first community lead organisation, The Association is a private, non-profit, non-religious, apolitical, social, cultural, educational, humanitarian, environmental, social assistance and integral development organization of its associates.
Our village has grown into existence over the last 30 years. With many casualties, armed conflicts, and difficult government processes for Indigenous communities in Guatemala to reclaim land, we set up our Association as a legal and structured format for ourselves, as well as other Indigenous Communities to utilize, in order to own community land and fortify sustainable livelihood for Indigenous people who are holding the frontline leading exemplary conservation efforts on a local, national, and global scale.
We are third and fourth generations of families who carry the tradition of caring for the earth through land tenure. As an agrarian community our daily existence is reliant on our connection and commitment to nature. Our survival and the future of our children depends on our ability to put a stop to further ecological destruction in our region.

Our Community is affected and impacted daily by what is not only our local but global crisis of the destruction of natural habitat
We are seeking to buy land to put into permenent land trusts for the purposes of conservation and restoration.
We are also seeking to buy land for growing an intentional sustainable community centred on living and working together in harmony with nature and the earth
Placed in the critical Buffer Zone between the Mayan Biosphere and Lake Peten Itza our location is of utmost importance on a local and global scale.
Community Planning Centered on Ecology
The aim of the Association is:
Promote the integral development of its associates, through training, promotion, management and implementation of productive and environmental projects in the department of Peten, as well as at the national level.

Promote training, production, and care of the land

Manage and develop projects for the care of the environment and its associates

Promote projects for the search and obtaining of land in favor of its associates

Promote agreements and concessions for the care and management of protected areas with state institutions

Manage and develop agricultural projects in favor of its associates

Manage educational projects for the benefit of its associates

Implement strategies for production and marketing of agricultural products

Maintain the unity and participation of the associates in the development of activities promoted by the association for the benefit of its associates

Promote communication strategies with authorities of the public sector, private sector for the search for development of its associates

Establish relationships with National and Foreign institutions in order to obtain technical and economic collaboration and thus be able to achieve the aims and objectives of the Association

STAYING GREEN WITH ADOBE
The abundant local supply of already available clay is just shouting for everyone to quit using cement and go green again, building adobe sourcing from the massive amounts of clay right under our feet- for free- And will help reduce migration! Most of family members who go to work in the USA are doing so to be able send money home to "build a real house" made of block and cement which is fairly expensive (and environmentally unfriendly) . We have international professionals who are ready to come to give us natural building workshops.
