"Nim Palow facilitates the creation of linear parks as a strategy for environmental recovery and urban development. Linear parks are presented as a tool to recover ecological, urban and social functionality, and provide green spaces as natural public spaces. Nim Palow also works to improve the quality of life of the population directly and indirectly through river decontamination projects through wastewater treatment plants."
History & Development
For the first time in Antiguas history, both the private and public sector have agreed to back the development of two extremely important mega public park project. A third park is in conversation. Municipal Mayor Victor Hugo del Pozo has already agreed to sign off on them.

Phase One(1) of construction of Lineal Park Pensativo runs an estimated 6 miles along half of the perimeter of Antigua . It follows the cities primary river, starting up stream outside Antigua in the township of San Gascon, down to the entrance of Antigua, swings around its perimeter, and ends at the other main entrance into Antigua from Cuidad Vieja.
UNESCO endorses the development of Pensativo Park, with additional involvements and investments of the University of Zurich, the Indian Embassy, Chilean Embassy, influential private land owners, institutions, and residents of the community. The Municipal Department Territory Ordering Plan DM POT has approved development of Pensativo Park to eventually circle the whole city in Phase 2. The parks act as a stepping stone as part of a larger plan to make Antigua pedestrian only. The parks will draw the initial outside perimeter line where transit transfers at the three entry routes into the city center. From there all cross city vehicles will be permit only, including shuttle busses for general public transit.
General development for Pensativo Park includes preservation of the river, adding new water treatment systems upstream, cleaning of the river beds and waterways, and correcting the river plant life. Along the park will be social areas, recreational areas, a walking and bicycle trail, cultural and educational areas.
The parks will host as Plein Aire Museums with installation and placement of public artworks ranging from permanent collections, rotating works, land and ephemeral arts. We are the designated curators.

The amount of time a piece may remain in each location is case by case. In order to exhibit new works annually, pieces are placed on a case by case basis works depending on their site locations, artist’s objective and goals for the work as a public piece, and agreements with the Municipality to determine how long a piece may be located.
-
Options after exhibition of a piece of art include integrating the art works into the city sculpture park, placement in other townships or collections, or into private, corporate, or museum collections.
-
Site specific pieces and land arts will have special consideration and terms due to climatic seasonal changes.
