The Arts create visual cues as a reflection of the ‘soul’ state of modern society. Being exposed to art, we may open ourselves to creative innovative thinking, inspiring us to see the world in new ways.
Guatemala is one of the most valued archeological and spiritual centers on the globe period. Its pre-Hispanic Mayan relics, ruins, calendar, Cosmovision, and web of constructs buried below all the ground one walks on. Through time in its art history are artists on par and peers with the likes of Picasso. And present date, has some of the worlds best contemporary artists, who could easily be compared and compete within the global art market, as top ranking.
The representation of fine Art and prominent Artists in Antigua has been thoroughly overlooked the past 20 years. Not only as a vital role of its development as a society, but the mere fact that Antigua is host to over two million visitors from around the world every year seems nothing short of common sense, that these aspect of Guatemalan life and culture be 150% accessible and on view in plain sight. Antigua should not only be The Museum city of Mayan arts in Central America, it should also be the Modern and Contemporary Art center second to Mexico City.
We are effectively putting the arts in full view, generating the necessary environment to turn Antigua into a world class museum city.
